Salvatore Phillip ’ Sonny ’ Bono (/ ˈboʊnoʊ /; February 16, 1935 – January 5, 1998) was an American singer-songwriter, producer, actor, and politician who came to fame in partnership with his second wife Cher as the popular singing duo Sonny & Cher. Jonny has become almost as famous as Bongo’s Bingo itself; his Northern Irish lilt and often ruthless audience interaction being an integral part of the night. “People get a lot of abuse if they don’t concentrate or make false calls, because it is serious bingo at the end of the day. So a lot of people get called dickheads.”. Jonny Bongo and the Bongo’s Bingo team. Following the outcome being announced, John Whittingslow of Napthens said: “The legal arguments that we submitted with Jonny and his business partner Josh proved that they were the co-founders of the brand, which was entirely conceived and designed by those two, and as a result they own full commercial rights.About
With the reality now sinking in of the new lockdown, it is fair to say that 2021 is, so far, a continuation of 2020. With precious few highlights to cherish in what has truly been an incredibly challenging 10 months for everyone, being cooped up again across the UK is a sobering thought.
But fear not. Jonny Bongo and the Bongo’s Bingo team are launching a brand new and completely free show this Saturday 9th January on Twitch – fully live and brimming with chaos, magic and mayhem for some already much needed escapism. Get ready for Bongo’s Got Talent.
It was Bongo’s Bingo’s initial run of live shows on Twitch in April and May which saw millions of people tuning in as the wildly successful experiential concept reached out to the nation, beaming straight into their living rooms. And now the search is on for the UK’s most talented dancers, singers, magicians, stand-ups, gymnasts, onion eaters, egg headers or something completely unique. No talent is too weird or crazy for the show.
The public will pick their favourite talent, alongside Jonny, Rich Furness and a *Special Guest Judge* (just don’t get too excited), and gift the lucky winner a feast of Bongo’s Bingo prizes, including:
· A Henry Hoover
· A Giant Pink Fluffy Unicorn
· A Disney Princess Set (including Elsa)
· Tickets to a Bongo’s Bingo Summer Show of your choice &
· £500 CASH CASH MONEY!!!
This is completely free to enter and watch on Twitch. And each Saturday during the lockdown there will be a Bongo’s Bingo show on Twitch to get the nation entertained.
Before the pandemic, Bongo’s Bingo was in over 40 UK locations and more around the world, selling out shows months in advance and close to selling 2m tickets. And it will be back. But for now, sit back and strap in for Bongo’s Got Talent.
Here is all the info on how to enter:

Jonny Bongo has won the bitter High Court battle with Baltic Triangle venue Camp and Furnace over who owns the rights to stage the popular Bongo’s Bingo events.
Jonny Bongo - real name Jonathan Lacey - took to Instagram on Tuesday to say his firm Shua Ltd had ’won it, we won the lot - every single thing’ following the long court case over naming rights for the event.
Mr Lacey posted a video to his Instagram story to say: ’Do you remember that whole saga with Camp and Furnace where they said they had created Bongo’s Bingo and they owned it, and we went to a big court case and it lasted over a year and it was one of the most stressful things?
’Well, the results came in and we won it. We won the lot - every single thing. The truth will set you free.’Jonny Bongo and the Bongo’s Bingo team
He added: ’Thanks to everyone that had our backs from the very, very start, and to all the Bongo team for sticking with me and my co-creator Josh Burke. We did it. Mad.
’I’d love to tell you all the juicy goss of what went down but we will save that for our motion picture movie in the next couple of years.’
Mr Lacey’s claims were backed up by information from the British and Irish Legal Information Institute. Read MoreJonny Bongo TwitchRelated ArticlesRead MoreRelated Articles
The case was posted to the free legal website this week, and confirms Shua is the owner of Bongo’s Bingo.
The document said His Honour Judge Halliwell had also ruled that Shua was the owner of the copyright of the logos, and that he had dismissed Camp and Furnace’s claim for injunctive relief.
Camp and Furnace and Bongo’s Bingo were contacted for further comment about the result of the case, as was the High Court in Manchester.
Camp and Furnace is yet to make a statement about the case, which began in September last year.
In November, the court heard the case was to continue into the new year - with a judgement expected in February. What was the case all about?
The case began when Baltic Triangle venue Camp wanted exclusive rights to hold Bongo’s Bingo events on Merseyside, with the bitter legal row having begun in the High Court back in September.
The venue also demanded a share of profit from Shua Ltd – the firm run by Jonny Bongo - real name Jonathan Lacey - and his colleague, Joshua Burke.
A night at Bongo’s Bingo:
Shua, on the other hand, was adamant that Mr Lacey and Mr Burke “conceived and designed” the brand, and wanted to prevent Camp itself from hosting the events.
Earlier this year, Camp and Furnace dropped the ’Bongo’ name from its Bingo events - in an interim move ahead of the High Court judgement Camp & Furnace in the Baltic Triangle have painted over the previous Bongo’s Bingo sign (Image: Liverpool Echo)
The pair initially launched the nights while the latter was working at Camp, but Mr Burke left the firm in 2015 to take the event ’on the road’.
It’s now become a huge success at major venues across the UK and the world, with events played as far afield as Dubai and Australia.
Shua Ltd’s Liverpool events are held at fellow Baltic Triangle venue Content and have been for over six months - despite only receiving planning permission from Liverpool Council last month.
